Hedmark prison was established 1st of April 2010 as the three local prisons Hamar, Ilseng and Bruvoll were merged into a common management. The prison now includes both high and low security level wards, with a capacity of 212 inmates in total. The prison departments are located in Bruvoll, Ilseng and Hamar.
